It is said, "Little prayer, little power; some prayer, some power; much prayer, much power." Come and celebrate God's presence and power; lay the burdens of our world and your life at His feet. Thursdays from 6:00 - 6:30 pm, Room 220 is open for prayer. Come for a moment or the whole time communing with God.  If you're unable to be present, please join your Westover Church community in prayer Thursday evenings wherever you are.

What is prayer? It is a gift we receive and use to communicate with God. Through Scripture, an authoritative source, specifically Matthew 6:9-13, Jesus instructed his disciples how to pray, using what we call "The Model Prayer." Some call it "The Lord's Prayer."

Why pray? The Holy Spirit, as God, Savior, Advocate and Mentor, wishes to grow in close relationship with us, so Prayer is an important activity in a Christian's life. Not only do we hear from Him through His Word, but we can speak confidentially to Him, praising Him for our blessings and asking Him for what we need. "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7 NIV)."

I'm in need of prayer. What do I do?

• First, speak to and listen to God: "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you (Matthew 6:6 NIV)."
• You may join us for Bible Study and Worship on Sundays, at 9:30 am and 11:00 am, where you will be welcomed by the Pastor, a loving group of people and you will experience community prayer as part of the service. 
• You may stop by the church on Thursday evenings between 6 and 7 pm, when Westover Church enters into Individual Prayer both on campus in Room 220 and wherever you are during that time. 
• You may complete a Contact Us form, so a Pastor can call, email or text you directly. 
• You may call the church office at 703.237.8292 to make an appointment to see a Pastor.
